InterMidi's PIPE TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT (PTM
Ô ) SystemDeveloped originally for the Baldwin Piano & Organ Company as a MIDI Relay System for the highly-unified hybrid W207 Pipe-Electronic Organ, PTM is now configurable to function as a large-scale coupler-relay system for any pipe organ.
To overcome the bit-rate limitations of the MIDI protocol, InterMidi has developed a scheme using tight data from the console origination processor with MIDI SYSEX marker controls to allow multiple parallel processor boards at the pipe chamber end of the MIDI line to handle the greatly exploded quantity of data at a leisurely pace with no acoustical delay phenomena.
Besides Baldwin's original installations, there are currently two non-Baldwin straight organs installed using PTM - St. Patricks of Watsonville, CA and The Washington State School for the Blind in Vancouver, WA.
